Kate Cox

Kate is a photographer and director from Yorkshire. She graduated from Nottingham Trent BA Fine Art and went on to work as an assistant art director in the North before moving to London to pursue her passion for visual storytelling. Here she worked in portrait and fashion photography under some of her most revered photographers such as Sandra Freij and Nadav Kander, before transitioning into moving image.

She is particularly interested in telling female driven stories that link landscape, narrative and the human figure. Kate intends to be at the forefront of championing women in film, telling stories that surprise and deal with overlooked topics.

2016-2017 has seen her direct a lesbian love story for Timothy Han Edition Perfume, a sci-fi concept film for the store LN-CC, a story of female rebellion set in the LA desert for Hazel English’s music promo Control, a conceptual short about Menstration for Ooh Anyday Now and a sun-drenched basketball date for new unisex Swedish brand LeWorks AW17. Her latest projects are two short dance films; 'Unboxing', commissioned by NOWNESS under their 'Define Gender' series, and 'City and Mirrors', commissioned by C4 Random Acts.

Her ambition is to champion diverse stories, to challenge and hopefully change common perception and give voice to the underrepresented.
